Request A "Getting Started" Package

You might just need a little help, without the need for any on-site consulting, to get started with vendor compliance.  This is the purpose of the "getting started" package.  Contained in a ZIP file are the following documents:

  1. SKU - UPC X-Ref Spreadsheet  -- While you could go on-line to calculate your UPC barcode check digits, you might not have a place to store this information and its relationship to your existing items (SKU's).  This spreadsheet allows you to store your product information (i.e. item number, description, etc.), and the UPC barcode.  The check digit and complete barcode calculation formerly in this spreadsheet was removed in lieu of using the calculator on the Uniform Code Council web site, which is http://www.uc-council.org/checkdig.htm for the UCC-12 (also known as the "UPC") barcode.   This is a Microsoft Excel 2000 / XP spreadsheet.

  2. Trading Partner Requirements Checklist -- This checklist should help you get started in setting up your customers (also called "trading partners" if communicating via EDI).  It is a good template for identifying various vendor compliance requirements a customer might ask you for.  This is a Microsoft Word 2000 / XP document.

  3. Routing Matrix -- This spreadsheet allows you to maintain a cross-reference of ship-from location (i.e. state) and carrier selections based upon the ship-to location, and weight, volume, and carton count minimum and maximums.  For each of your company's ship-from locations, you will need to identify the carrier you are required to use by your customer for each shipment type, (small package, LTL, TL), based on location(s) you are shipping to.  Your customer's routing guide will have this information.  By translating this information into an easy-to-read matrix, you are making it much easier for your shipping department to understand and follow.  This is a Microsoft Excel 2000 / XP spreadsheet.
